OK so it has been three weeks exacty since I was banded, I was only on a two day post op liquid diet... I have lost 25 pds :), my concern is this last week I havent lost anything, in fact gained a pd...

I am eating mashed food and some light things, can tolerate anything and am straving and when I eat, I make myself quit because I dont want to strech or damage anything...

I feel like I havent even been banded...I am eating very good, exactly what I am surposed to be eating...

Its just so hard, I am so hungry and cant get full.

Is this normal til I get a fill?;)

I am thinking they forgot to put the band in...lol:unsure:

This is totally normal. I experienced the same thing. As you heal the swelling around your stomach goes down and it feels like nothing is there at all. You simply need a fill .

Also, don't starve yourself. Continue eating the same type of foods your doctor and nutritionist prescribe but in amounts that satisfy you. My doctor says that it should be easy, that I shouldn't feel hungry in between meals or be able to eat much more than my allotted five ounces. Starving yourself sends the wrong messages to your brain.

Good luck and hang in there!

25LBS is a very good start! Although, I am at the begining of my journey, and have lost 15lbs, I feel great about it! I think it is important that we excersise. Have you started walking? Also, think positive, and eat the right foods. Try and stay away from starchy foods.

Oh, they put it in all right. But you're in Bandster Hell and you don't get free pass on it. Your first fill is just a step in the right direction and each fill will make it easier to control your eating. The bad part? Right now, it's pretty much all willpower.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
