Anyone anemic (iron-deficiency) prior to surgery?

I am anemic due to heavy periods. And trying to find out if Dr. will cancel procedure. I will start to take more Iron like Geritol or something. I am hoping this will be enough. I am slated for surgery on Nov. 12th.

I was anemic starting in high school, I still can tell if I haven't taken my Iron during the day as I will get exhausted easily. This was never an issue for my surgeon, he just made sure I stayed on track with my iron and Vitamin intake.
