Cooking Chicken for your band

Recommended Posts

The DW just cooked me some lovely juicy chicken that went down without any problems.

Basically she got some kitchen foil, and made what I can only describe as a little foil tent for the chicken to go into. She covered the chicken with foil making sure it was fully sealed inside, but left loads of room around it so it looks like the chicken was sitting inside its own little foil tent.

This then went into the oven for 20 minutes on a medium/high heat and it cooked in its own steam without any moisture escaping.

This kept all the juices inside and stopped it drying out. When served, it was nice and juicy and went down a treat (Still chew lots though !!!) without any problems.

I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share with you guys.

Thanks John! That sounds like something I would like to try; especially since it's nice and juicy. I'm always on the lookout for good and easy recipes. And, it seems like I eat a lot of chicken since being banded.

I've made chicken breast on the griddle with onions and peppers (using only the regular coating on the griddle). I've had probs with chicken but I did not have problems with this one. The griddle i have is part of my stove but I think any one you buy and put on top of a flame would work.

I sprinkle rosemary & paprika all over a whole chicken (some inside too). Place in a pyrex dish, cover with Saran Wrap, and cook for 30 minutes in your microwave. It tender, moist & delicious.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
