Moxi 0 Posted October 26, 2009 What exactly doe preadmission testing entail?? They just called me to set mine up for next week and when I asked I got a vague answer. I just want to be prepared. You know, clean underwear and all. :wink2:
kiz 1 Posted October 26, 2009 You can never go wrong with clean underwear. lol I had blood drawn, an EKG, chest xray (I'm sure there's another name for it, but I don't know what it is), weight, bp, temp. I think that was about it.
Deekel 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Mine was the same as Kiz.
Moxi 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Thanks! WHat's an EKG like??
Deekel 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Thanks! WHat's an EKG like?? It's nothing at all to be worried about. It's stickers on your chest that have what look like metal "snaps" on them. They clip wires to those and ask you to breathe normal and then hold your breath a second or two. It measures the electrical output of your heart and prints out of a machine what looks like a graph of your heart waves.
kiz 1 Posted October 27, 2009 It's no biggie. I had to wear a hospital gown. They stick little tabs (electrodes?) on your chest, arms and legs. Well, my memory is pretty falty..lol..but I think that's what was done. Then you just pretty much lay there as the doctor runs some tests. You don't feel anything. thinkingthinner 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Did anyone/everyone have to have a pregnancy test as part of pre op testing? I did in spite of the fact that I am 64 and have had a total hysterectomyt (that includes my ovaries). I was shocked and protested, but still had to have it. thinkingthinner 0 Posted November 10, 2009 So, what were the results? lol But no, I didn't have to have a pregnancy test because I had a hysterectomy. That's just it! They didn't even have the courtesy to call and tell me that it was negative!
Moxi 0 Posted November 10, 2009 I'm in my 30's and they didn't even do a pg test. Granted I have an IUD and I'm pretty darn sure I'm not pg, but I'm still surprised they took my word for it!

So you think that they make the men take a PG test too?
