Can anyone give me some ideas on what to eat on soft mushy diet.

Recommended Posts

I start on my soft mush foods wed and I had trouble with the pureed already. I don't wanna mess up any longer. I have a meal plan kind of from the they gave me at the clinic, but would like more ideas.

Among the things I had were. . .

mashed potatoes with melted cheese and nonfat Greek yogurt

poached salmon

refried Beans with cheese

turkey chili (I put it in the blender to thin it out, and added chicken stock as well)

Soups

everything I enjoyed on liquids

Sweet potato (yum!)

That's all I can think of right now! Hope it helps!

I make part skim or fat free ricotta, throw in fat free mozzarella, garlic, and Tomato sauce. mix it all up and nuke it for a minute or two. Yummy. Ziti w/o the Pasta.

I also do the refried Beans w/ cheese.

chicken or egg salad w/ LF mayo

scrambled eggs/egg white w/ a light laughing cow cheese melted

I also throw chicken or turkey in food processor add low fat gravy. good,

Hope this helps.

I have been enjoying low fat cottage cheese thrown in the processor with plain or vanilla Greek Yogurt and a splash of vanilla and a packet of Stivia... tastes like the filling in cheese blitzes (I tried a very eggy version of the crepe with no added fat Sunday and did fine eating it slow).

tuna salad in the food processor

homemade hummus, light on the tahini

canned chicken with a little mild salsa in the food processor with some chicken brother, served over ff refried Beans

cream of wheat

Poached salmon with capers and lemon

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
