Celestial 0 Posted October 26, 2009 I was banded on Sept 24 and I have lost 31lbs and am off all diabetic meds. I am type 2 diabetic and 31 yrs old. Before surgery my blood sugars were never below 12-13 (CANADA) now they are all within normal range. I love my band!
jfc193 718 Posted October 26, 2009 Right after my surgery my metformin dosage was cut in half and then a little bit every three months and the end of 9 months no meds at all. My last AC1 about 6 months ago was 5.7. I also do not snore anymore and do not have sleep apnea and have not used a breathing machine for over a year and a half. LollyMoe 1 Posted October 26, 2009 I am not diabetic but when I go to group, there are quite a few banders there that report no meds anymore and some even say no c-pap machine. I think that's great. I hope that if you're diabetic you too will be able to say that someday.
DanBar 0 Posted October 26, 2009 I was diagnosed with type II about 6 weeks before surgery... Had no idea that I had it and my fasting blood surger when I took it for part of my lab work for getting the surgery was 300...I worked on getting it down by diet, couldn't get it below 250 so they put me on insulin... I had surgery on 6-18 had my last dose of insulin on 6-19 and have not had blood surgers above 140 since...
