melmarlem 0 Posted October 25, 2009 I found out my surgery date at my last pre-op meeting with my surgeon that was called "the history and physical". It took 6 months for me to get a surgery date because I had to jump through 101 hoops for my insurance company. My surgeon's office doesn't schedule surgeries until they receive approval from the insurance company. But if you are a self-pay then it should go more smoothly! Cindy82281 0 Posted October 25, 2009 I started my process in the end of June 09, found out my surgery date at the beginning of Sept, and was approved in 2 days, and surgery is tomorrow. CDPHP is my insurance, and they were really great!!

ParrotheadCathy 0 Posted October 27, 2009 I was self-pay and knew I was from the start. My first contact with the surgeon's office was January 2 (I didn't attend a seminar or anything), and when I left, I knew what testing I needed to get done for a surgery date of 2/10. Self-pay is so much simpler, I will admit. Yeah, I'd have been much happier to have insurance that would have paid for this, but it is what it is, LOL.
