I am 3 days post op. Today I drank about 4oz of an alba drink (on my recommendation sheet). It took 45-60 min to drink it. 8 hours later and I STILL feel full. Is this normal? I did not drink excessively or quickly, but can't believe I am still full. Did I do something wrong? What can I do to alleviate this feeling?

After my surgery, I was not really hungry for a couple of weeks. I know other people really suffer during this time with hunger. I count myself lucky.

Just be sure that you're getting other fluids down so that you don't become dehydrated. If you're having trouble doing that, call your doctor. Some doctors add a fill during surgery. Chances are, as your swelling subsides, your hunger will return, but it's really important that you stay hydrated.

Yes I had this feeling when I drank a Protein Shake like 6 days after surgery. I wasn't supposed to drink it, but I felt so so hungry so I drank it and I think too fast. I was full for a very long long time as well. It will pass just be happy your full and not feeling the starving feeling.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
