Hi there to all,

I'm new to the site, and I am loving all the info i'm getting from every-one.

I'm 37 and have been big all my life, I have a wonderful husband and together we have 6 kids (3 each from previous marriage). I have to say this is the first time in a long time that i'm doing something for me. I have been so blessed that my journey to this point has been a breeze, I have my date for banding on the 25th of November. I go this week to start my 1200 cal. diet and in two weeks I do the shakes.:w00t:

I know it's going to be a long hard road, but it is worth every minute. I hope to get some advise and knowledge from who-ever would like to share some.

Good luck to those who are starting their journey, and keep up the great work to those who are already there.

I was just banded myself on Oct 14th. I have found the broth to be very filling. Heat up a cup of Water & drop a bouillon cube in it & sip. Having a hard time trying not to sip too much. I assume it's like the water business, only 2 oz every 15 minutes. That means you have to reheat the broth or drink it cold. Anyone out there, is this what I should be doing? Takes forever to drink my Protein Drinks also. Going to the Dr. for my 2 week check-up on Thursday & will be really glad to be able to have more than this. The sugar free popsicles are wonderful also if you get hungry.

Thanks for the tips :cursing:

I go tomarrow and have my consultation and start my 1200 calorie diet, then in two weeks I do the shakes. I hope it goes quick and I pray I meet my goals of weight loss that the Dr. sets ( for pre-op). I'm excited and ready, wish me luck!!:cursing:

Well I made it and it's the first day post-op. I am very sore and my Left Shoulder is killing me. They told me it was the gas and it would eventually go away. My incisions are pretty small but they are leaking blood quite a bit. The DR's sent home a script for Phenergan and told me to take aspirin for the pain.

Just got out of the shower and I fell better, but like I said I can not get over the shoulder hurting. But I know in my heart it is well worth it. Thanks everyone for the support and I will talk to you all soon.

I've heard that Gas X strips really help with the pain in your shoulder. Have someone go get some for you. Asprin? Really? That's odd! I heard no asprin after surgery. Use adult liquid Tylenol. Heard that's also the best! Congrats, baby bandster!!! Can't wait for mine...Dec. 2nd!!!

Hang in there Shannon - the first couple days are the hardest! Gas-X strips really helped me with the pain, and remember to walk...walk and walk a little more! Walking seems to get everything moving again, and makes that gas go away!

This is just the start of our new lives! I wish you only the best!

After a restless night and sleeping upright most of the night, I am feeling a little better. I plan to go into work later this afternoon to perhaps keep me up and moving about. Its so tempting to just park myself on the couch. I so appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, it means a lot to know that there are other people who know what I am going through and that it will soon be over and I get to start my new life.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
