gatorgal 0 Posted October 23, 2009 Just wondering if this is normal for some people. Since getting my fourth fill (now 3.1 cc in a 4 cc band), I notice that I have trouble getting food down for Breakfast and lunch. I try to eat dense foods (as per my doc and nut) so that my pouch will stay full longer, but I can get only one or two bites down. Then, by dinner time, I feel fine and can eat the regular 3/4 cup or so. Also, sometimes after Breakfast and lunch, I have sliming episodes even though I've eaten just a few bites. Should I worry about this? Is it normal? The last fill was 2 weeks ago. Thanks for any input!
Sue Magoo 71 Posted October 23, 2009 Gatorgal: I think this is very common. I am a mouth breather so everything gets dry at night while I'm sleeping. I believe this is what makes me tighter in the morning. If I have a couple of cups of coffee then I wait an hour or two and then have my Breakfast and I'm fine. I've heard that even just warm Water will help loosen things up, but I love coffee so that's my choice for morning beverage. Good luck with your band. I love my band and my new flat tummy! tyhelms 0 Posted October 23, 2009 I have also noticed I'm tighter in the morning. And I usually have a little coffee also to loosen things a bit if not coffee try some hot tea.. I don't like to do to much coffee because of the caffeine. I go to get my 3rd fill on Monday..kind of looking forward to it, but not ready to go back on all liquids.. looking forward to dropping some more weight. Bino 44 Posted October 26, 2009 I have the same thing...tighter in the morning...so I asked my doc. He said that it's due to postnasal drip. It irritates the area around the band, causing it to be swollen in the morning and whenever else I'm having sinus drip.
ParrotheadCathy 0 Posted October 26, 2009 LOTS of us are tighter in the morning. My doc suggests starting your day with a cup of hot tea or coffee .... HOT, not luke warm. I find that the cup of tea makes eating easier for me.
thebandedgirl 0 Posted October 26, 2009 I'm super tight in the morning and really really open at night. I've been wondering about a fill--should I get one when mornings are so difficult for me? Last night I ate *way* too much. Well over 2 cups of food, I'm sure, and I didn't overly full after. But in the morning? Forget it. Anyone have an opinion? (Sorry gatorgirl, hope you don't think I'm trying to hijack your thread!)
