piperbaby 0 Posted October 13, 2005 I hate ins companies specifically mine. I was denied for not being medically necessary. They claim they did not recieve nutritional, psych and medical evaluations and diet hiistory. The very idea. Anyone who is a pt of Benavides knows you have to do all these things prior to them submitting. They sent in 163 pages of medical documentation including 5 different letters of reccommendation from my various specialists as well as the sleep study, nutritional consult and psych consult and diet history. I have specifically been taking Meridia since May just to satisfy them. I dont even think they looked at mt file and just stamped it denied. I am so pissed:mad: I would really love to call them up and give them an ear full but I dont think that would be in mt best interest.

CATHY1102 0 Posted October 16, 2005 Andrea; I am in the process of an appeal to my insurance company, I thought of paying one of those attorneys to help me and then when I found out that I can attempt to do the same thing myself I am. In this process I found out that you can contact the state that your insurance is out of ( like I live in VA, but my insurance is BCBS of Illnois.) so I am filing an appeal/complaint with them. Look under the Dept of Insurance for the state of your insurance. They have a liason person that you can get help from. Good luck to you, I am also beginning this battle. cathy
patty103 0 Posted October 16, 2005 i went through the same thing first they lost my papers then I had them faxed to them, they sais they had wrong ID # on them (not true), then they were denied for some of the same reasons as yours, I had all this sent in, I got a set of everything that was sent in, that is how I know the Id # wasn't wrong, and everytime the dr.'s office would send them certified mail return receipt, I would also fax them, I had an email that I would reply to, from someone in customer service and everytime I faxed them I would email her to make sure she got them... I was finally approved. Now they keep kicking out my fills for non covered reason's and I resubmit it and then they pay it. Insurance Company's are a pain but never give up cause that is what they want. if just one out of 10 give up look how much money they think they have saved...
