Has anyone felt weird after their fill?

Recommended Posts

Hello..Has anyone felt weird after their fill?

I had my first fill today and driving home I got this weird taste in my mouth. And I am not feeling well....very tired and achy. I don't know if this is a coincidence or what. I just don't feel well. I just feel weird...hard to explain....hope i am not getting sick.

I haven't had those symptoms, but I am usually quite gassy after a fill. I'm not sure if these two things are related or not, but I've noticed how I burp for an hour or so after each fill.

Its probably just a coincidence. Having a fill doesn't normally make you feel unwell. How much did your Dr put in and are you able to drink? If you haven't had anything to drink you may be starting to get a bit dehydrated which can make you feel unwell.

I got a 2cc fill. I am drinking fine so I know it is not that....oh man I hope I am not getting sick! I feel tired and achy!

I also googled side effects of Lidocaine

This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: drowsiness, mental/mood changes, ringing in the ears, dizziness, vision changes, tremors, numbness, headache, backache.

Benadryl works wonders for allergic reactions. If you aren't throwing up, give it a try. If it isn't allergy, it won't hurt you.

I have the same symtoms after a fill. I had a fill on Oct. 20, 2009, and I felt achy all over. This continued for 2 days. I also notice this the first time I got a fill. After a couple of days then I feel fine.

I HAVE FELT THIS WAY BEFORE TOO!!! I have to drive an hour to/from my fill and while on my way home from my second fill my throat started to hurt and I felt horrible that whole day/night. I wondered myself if it was just a coincidence and thought I have to just be getting sick.. it was weird. But the feeling came instantly after I left the doctor's office.

I took a small swig of my leftover pain meds before bed and that took care of it. I did not feel like that with my 1st or 3rd fill.. hard to say if it was coincidence or what happened.

My friend said that she felt like she was getting the flu and was sore for 1-2 days after the first fill. Didnt have it happen on the second or third however. We have to remember that everyone is different.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
