I had my first fill on 10/19/2009 of 2cc. My stomach is growling, and I can eat anything. I have to cut myself off. I dont know what I am doing wrong.

My stomach growls ALL THE TIME. Sometimes so loud its embarrassing. As for the constantly being hungry, before you hit your sweet spot with restriction, you're gonna have to use your willpower to cut yourself off. From what you said you did that. Keep it up until the next fill!

You're doing absolutely nothing wrong. You just need more fill. Sometimes it takes a while to get good restriction. Try not to get discouraged. I went back once for sure, but maybe twice, just two weeks after a fill for another. Generally though, I went every four weeks, until I finally hit my sweet spot. I've had fantastic restriction for over two months now (almost three).

You can't eat anything? I had a fill on the 20th and after a fill you should stay to a post-op diet for the day if not more. I hadn't had a fill in 6 months and I think I am a little inflamed from that lol, so I am taking it easy. Instant mashed potatoes, thin Soup and so on. One thing that is KEY is eating at a slow pace taking aprox 20 minutes to eat. I know that it is really hard to do but I can tell the difference in my hunger from that. Make sure too that you are not drinking 30 min before or after your meal, that makes a big difference as well. If you are still feeling hungry all of the time and literally can't eat anything then you need to talk to your doctor about it. We are not supposed to STARVE with the band!!! I hope that you get to feeling better soon. Let us know how you are doing...

You are not doing anything wrong.. Unfortunately it is rare to get restriction on your first fill... most people it takes SEVERAL fills, some people it takes 6 or 7.. everyone is different.. I too had 2 CC on my first fill and felt SOME restriction but not a lot. How long does your surgeon have you on liquids/mushies after your fill?? All surgeons are different, mine is just 24 hrs... if you are on solid food again after your fill and your stomach is growling, make sure you are getting plenty of Protein in when you do eat... Protein keeps you full longer. And how long after you eat is your stomach starting to growl?? I hope I have eased your mind at least a little...

You aren't doing anything wrong! I was banded May 20, 2009, and have had 3 fills and am still not at the sweet spot. I am going for my FOURTH fill next week. Don't get discouraged. I haven't just yet. You'll get there eventually.

Will your doctor do another fill after a couple of weeks? (some won't). Do you know if your doctor put a fill in your band during surgery? They test the band, and there's always some saline left, but some doctors go ahead and give a fill right off the bat. If you didn't get one then, your fill was pretty small, but that's not so unusual. It's just going to take time, but you'll get there.

I e-mailed the doctor yesterday. I was told I could come in for another small fill, but it just takes time to get in the green zone.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
