I have a embarassing question - I had my surgery on 10/13 - still having a hard time getting in enough Fluid and protien.

My question is,, starting last friday I developed loose stools, very loose- 3-4 times a day - i have yet to have normal BM.. any thoughts on how long this lasts?

I was banded on 9/24, and I went through the exact same thing. My doctor said not to worry and to start taking a bulking formula if i could handle it. I use Benefiber, because it's tasteless, doesn't turn thick, and can be mixed in with anything you're cooking. Metamucil works too, but it turns to a thick goo in the glass and is very unappealing.

This pass once i started eating more solid foods and getting my Fiber intake under control.

good luck!!!

If only I ever had that problem.........even nearly one year later I'd probably rejoice!!! I'm sure it's as troublesome as Constipation though, well probably not quite as bad!!

I was banded on Oct. 16th. I had the exact same problems. Now I have completely stop and don't have a desire to go at all. I start my puree meals on Saturday, so maybe that will help.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
