My Band Drama (still portless)

Recommended Posts

This sucks! What is with those Vegas docs, anyway -- don't they realize what's at stake here? It's ridiculous that you should have to do all of the legwork just to get a competent doc to read your endo. But after the muck clears, I am confident you will get a real answer. . . without having to go to medical school. Sending good vibes your way.

Dr. Billy is military when it comes to diet. He doesn't take any crap, and you can't pull anything over on him. One thing I remember is when he asked me why I had cheese in the house. His tone and seriousness may as well have screamed, "WHY THE F DO YOU HAVE CHEESE IN THE HOUSE, LISA, HUH?!"

Cheese is evil. As evil as candy. Sure, a slice or couple ounces is an excellent source of Protein and much needed dairy, but when's the last time I enjoyed a slender slice of cheese? Cheese just isn't cheese unless it's stretched 2 feet out in front of you or mounded in heaps all melty and lovely. MMM cheeessseee. Stupid cheese.

Tick tock, still on hold waiting to make my Gastro appointment. Love those phone recordings saying, "Thank you for holding." Then the girl finally picks up and says, "can you hold a moment.?" Uh, do I have a choice?

Put on your panty liners and get ready for a laugh. After 15 minutes on hold, the Gastro dept. says they have my referral, but it doesn't refer me. What? Yes, they have a referral form from my primary, but since it doesn't specifically say that I'm referred, it's useless. I asked "Doesn't the fact you have a referral form IMPLY that I'm referred?" So since she wasn't able to answer such a perplexing question, she blind-transferred me to Brenda, who proceeded to yell at me. I should know this, and I should know that, so I put on the drama and fake cried and make her feel like crap, then asked, "WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT A SICK PATIENT?" I could hear the "Oops" in her fat head as she started tap dancing and calling me Honey.

Back to square one. Circus music playing in my head.

Bwahaha haha!!! ROFLMAO!!

If that's taken, how about "Thin as Sin"? :) :)

I can't even say "Thin & Sin" let alone "Thin as Sin!" Can't do it, I try and try, and just can't do it.

But oddly enough, "Thin is Sin" is easier to say...

Lisa, you are my hero... from one circu freak to another

We'll just cut the middle man and call it "Thin Sin".

Hugs Lisa. Try not to kill any medical staff today, as hard as that may be.

:]

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
