What are some things you all eat when you were on the puree phase? I will be starting this tomorrow and wanted to hear some ideas.

By "puree" I assume you mean mushy foods. If so, amoung other itemes: runny mashed potatoes (I never thought instant potatoes could taste so good, LOL). Fat free refried Beans with a little melted low fat cheese, cream Soups (pureed if there are chunks in it), runny oatmeal, grits, (and I'm sure farina would be okay as well), fat free pudding is still good, pureed vegetables (some people say they eat baby food, but I'm all in favor of REAL food just run through the blender).

Applesauce, mashed bananas, cream of wheat, ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce on top (HEAVENLY), guacamole, flan or cheesy egg custard, SF pudding, mashed butternut squash, oatmeal, yogurt, whipped sweet potatos.

I made some chicken noodle Soup today and it pureed pretty well. I've also been eating yogurt and blended cottage cheese. A couple of nights ago, my boyfriend blended me 1/2 a hamburger with some schedded cheese and mashed potatos. I thinned it out with a little bit of chicken broth and it make like 3 delicous meals. Also, I made a pumpkin dessert that was pretty good: 1/2 of a 15 oz can of pumpkin, 1 pk. fat free sugar free pudding mix, 4 oz fat free cream cheese, 1 scoop Protein Powder, and 1/2 cup sim milk. It was good for satisfying my sweet tooth and had lots of Protein.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
