Largest Incision issues

Recommended Posts

Ok so my largest incision was really sore today when I checked it, one end is really hard and I can feel a good sized lump underneath

the skin, it wasn't there a few days ago.

What is it?

I am eleven days banded, looks good otherwise.

Thanks!!!

P.S.

Anyone in Raleigh need a new friend.

Most likely what you are feeling is your port under the skin. It is where the largest incision is located. I'm not sure why you haven't noticed it sooner unless it was swollen and you were not able to feel it until now.

Thanks

My largest incision is near my belly button left side

It's just the one side of the scar nearest the belly button that Is lumpy

I'm glad that Happy2Lose responded -- that is 99.9999% for sure your port! No need to worry -- that's where mine is, too.

Congratulations on getting banded! Take your measurements and some before photos asap if you haven't already! You will definitely want these things later on!

Best,

Catherine

My port site (also at the belly button -slightly to the left) was totally unnoticable to me until I started to feel better. About 5 days after surgery, it turned BLACK, BLUE, PURPLE and GREEN:eek:- but it didn't hurt. Once the colors started to fade my port was super annoying! I felt it every time I sat up, sat down, stood up, laid down...etc. Now, I don't feel it at all.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
