I am a hair dresser (40 years) and am also banded. Get some Nioxin Shampoo and Scalp Therapy. Both made by Nioxin. You buy them from a hair salon or beauty supply. I am sure you could find them online also. This works by really cleaning your scalp. No drugs involved. It will stop the Hair loss in 30 days. I am using it now so I don't think I will lose hair at all. The Nioxin people say, (I haven't had a chance to test this one) that if people use it for 6 weeks before chemo it will prevent the hair loss. Interesting how most people don't even have that much notice before Chemo. Anyway I sell it to many many people who believe in it. It also makes your hair look nice and full. I suggest all of you get some right away. Even if you have already stopped losing hair, it will make your hair grow back faster. The scalp therapy is like an anti-inflamatory. Rub it into your scalp. It also is a nice detangler that won't make your hair flat. Best of luck!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
