Now I am wondering if I need a fill...

Recommended Posts

How much can you eat? I posted on Wednesday saying that I didn't think I needed a fill. Went to my dr on Thursday and he agreed, but said that in a week or so he thinks I will change my mind. Since then I have been pretty hungry, but now sure how to gage if I am eating enough or too much. I was banded on 9/16.

For dinner, I ate at Cheddars and had the lunch portion of the salmon which was a small piece. I ate half of the fish, most of my green Beans, and half of the mashed potatoes. I just got home and ate a cookie. Is half of a lunch portion a normal amount to eat? I am stuffed right now and wish I had not eaten the cookie  .

For lunch I had some turkey lunch meat, a few whole wheat crackers, and a cheese stick. I was hungry about an hour later and ate a banana.

Some ppl might not agree, but it sounds like you are eating normal amounts. Are you still losing wt? If you are happy with your wt loss I wouldn't get a fill yet.

Best wishes,

Mimi

The problem is being hungry an hour later. Maybe even a small fill would help so you don't get hungry so soon after you eat.

i agree. just last week i was debating wether or not i needed a fill. I Just didnt feel out of control in my eating and there were many times had to stop and slow down. Soo I began to question well how much is to much? but yesterday i ate more then today hmm.

True you'll have different eating days but i think the biggest tell tells if your eating or getting hungry before u hit the 4 hr mark. 1 hr later if ur legitamtly hungry after feeling "full" then a smidgen fill can make the world of difference.

I actualy got a .1 fill last week when i felt it wasnt really neccesery but it actualy delayed my eating in the am.

slow and steady wins this race it seems!

no need to get stuck episodes etc.. if u feel like your getting hunry and you'll know what "eating more" is for you.. then get a fill if not feel it out..

gl..

funny thing is im the one usualy askign the questions..

I definately need a fill. I was a bottomless pit yesterday, never getting full. I had made Cookies to take to church and then forgot to take them and I had several. I am going to call the dr today!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
