Guest soonslimtm Posted October 11, 2005 Hello all. I was just banded on 9/30 and today was the first day that I was really hungry. I want to cheat but am scared to eat anything but broth. I'm a very picky eater and have been living on Soup, sugar free Jello and popsicles for 3 1/2 weeks now. Any tips on what to do? Thanks.
CCBSTX 0 Posted October 12, 2005 I was almost immediately hungier after being banded. I still am not sure if it was head hunger or what but I definitely heard my stomach grumble and rumble! It's tempting to cheat but remember you are healing the sutures inside your stomach and abdominal wall. These liquids keep your stomach from being pulled or tugged away from the sutures that secure your band. Try to not let yourself get to the point of starving. Eat frequently and drink much...Protein drinks, watery oatmeal, watery cream of wheat, Carnation Instant Breakfast, creamy Soups, egg drop Soups, etc. Of course always try to obey your doctor's instructions, especially during the healing stage. Take care and best wishes. Shawn
La_madam 20 Posted October 12, 2005 Have a Protein drink..it will help curb the hunger and it is Liquid Protein curbs my hunger..if you are allowed Soups at this stage then I'm sureyou are allwoed protein drinks..Instead of broth replacewith Protein Shakes add a bananna or a scoop of Peanut Butter to the Protein Drink and blend it with lots of ice, it will fill you up
