can your body actually reject the band?

Recommended Posts

Quick question for anyone who may know--can your body really "reject" the lap-band? I'm looking to have my surgery by the end of the year, and I like to think I've done my homework--I know mortality stats, and complication stats, and whatnot, but I've never read of a band rejecting until this website/section. That really worries me. I've had 9 different piercings at any given time, and every last one of them has rejected, regardless to the nature of the metal (gold, silver, surgical stainless, titanium). Can silicone reject in the same way? If so, how come it's not mentioned as a possible complication? Is there any way to treat or prevent this? Thanks!

The band is made of an inert material....not "silicone" per se. I have read of a few unusual complications but rejection of the band is one I haven't seen. There was a man posting on here at one point who had to have his band removed because of a sensitivity to some component but I don't remember more than that. But with as many posters as there are on here, and another internet site I frequent, that's as close as I've seen to "rejecting" the band.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
