pin hole in the cut by the breast.

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 wks post op and I have noticed a small pin hole in my cut near my breast. I know my bras are irritating it but I wear a silk t shirt to try and keep it cover. All the other cuts are completely healed. That one looked okay until about a week ago and now I just don't like the hole in it. anyone else?

Can you tell if one of the inner sutures has poked through your incision? My incisions were glued on the outside, but the inner layers had dissoluble stitches. One poked through and left a little hole until I trimmed it (after calling the doctor).

ooohhh hoooo a solution. I thought I was going crazy. I HAVE seen a little string but I didn't know what it was so I didn't bother it. so I'm fine-you think. Thanks soooo much.

did yours have any clear liquid come out with it? It's not puss. It doesn't smell either.

Yay..I can't believe I figured out a solution for someone!

It's been a year, but I do remember that right around the clear stitch (sort of looks like fishing line) was red and looked irritated. Once I disinfected the area and my little scissors and clipped it, the area healed right away. The nurse said I could clip it myself or stop into their office, and she would clip it. I just gently pressed on the area to get make the stitch poke out a little further and snipped. That little stitch was so darn uncomfortable because it caught on my clothes.

I'm getting a little nervous becuase mine appears to be getting bigger. The sting is really small so i left it alone and now it appears to be gone.

I would call the doctor's office tomorrow. You never know if there's a little infection or something that has set in. Mine closed up pretty quickly after I snipped the stitch. It may be nothing, but it's better to play it safe. I'm sorry you're still having problems.

It's all better now. I kept seeing th string but I wouldn't cut it. Now I realize that it kept the whole open because it kept moving around. What may not have looked big really was to my body. I cut it so it and within the day it was healing. Thanks so much for the advice.

I'm very glad to hear it turned out to be that stitch causing the problem and not an infection. Whew! Thanks for letting me know, I was concerned for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
