How much weight have you lost?

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am going to be banded in 6 days and I am trying to decide what my Christmas weight loss goal should (could) be. Can all you banded tell me how much you all lost the first 2 months after surgery??

Keep in mind everyone is different.

I am 13 weeks post op and have lost 39 lbs.

8 of those were pre-op

Everyone is different, so don't be disappointed if you don't match others.

I was banded on 8/11/09, no pre-op dieting at all, and I've lost 33.2 pounds.

I have lost 30 pounds since 7/16 - and I am happy to say transitioning to a size 14 = yay (I started off as a 20) - I get happy over pants sizes instead of the scale these days :scared2:

I have lost 37.2 lbs in 15 weeks. Two weeks pre op diet I lost 8 lbs. So almost 30 lbs after. I would figure 1-2 lbs a week. You may lose more one week the next you may lose none so I find this to be a good barometer. One other thing you need to take into account is that you don't have as much weight as the rest of us to lose. All that have answered thus far want to lose over 100 lbs. I am sure you know those that have more to lose tend to lose faster...at least in the beginning. Hopefully you will be taking a good amount of time off of work. Take it easy don't freak if you don't lose anything significant in the beginning. Take control by keeping track of your food that will get you through banders hell. This will make your time in the first two months easier. Take control before this time period controls you!

I have lost 27 pounds in 38 days. I would like to lose about 20 more before Christmas. The Bariatric Coordinator said he hoped I would be at 199 by easter which is 43 pounds from now. I think I should make it.

Hi,

I was banded on August 31st and have lost 30 pounds so far. I haven't had a fill yet and seem to be adjusting pretty well.

Good Luck

Chris

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
