As of today, I have lost 33.2 pounds and wish I knew how many inches I've lost. I don't measure but I'm buying myself a tape tomorrow and keep up with it from now on.

At quilting on Monday, I was infomred that it was time to retire the capri's I had on. They are too loose according to my friends. Last summer, they were rather tight!:sneaky:

Tonight, at church, I had on a new (never worn) pair of jeans. It has been years since I had any jeans. Anyway, I was again told that I needed to retire these new jeans because they were too big..especially in the butt. They weren't too loose when I purchased them last Friday. The only thing I can figure out is that I must be losing a lot of inches lately.

I am excited that I am losing pounds/inches, so I guess it's important to measure my body after all.

I love my band and am so happy I did it!:frown:

I have been measuring myself from the beginning. I have always, anytime I tried to lose weight, measured myself. I measure my neck, arms, breasts, chest, lower belly, thighs, hips, waist, midsection and calves. I know it is a little much but I want to track it so when I don't lose weight that week I may have lost inches and that will keep me motivated. I put on a pair of jeans today since it was actually raining here today and they were way too big! And I had to wear them because I haven't pulled my smaller sizes out of storage yet...I guess I'll have to do that soon! I track my inches on a excel spreadsheet and it automatically subtracts as I go.

Thin Ali-

Just wondering what size you were and what you are now. I noticed our starting weight and current weight is the same. Also, how many inches you have lost. I didn't measure myself before, but will start now. I know everybody looses differently. If it is too personal please don't feel the need to reply.

Just want to say Congrats on losing! It feels awesome.. I am finally losing a little but nothing major yet. I have not been taking my measurements either but recently bought a tape and am starting! I know I have gone down in inches too but haven't been keeping track. The hospital did take my measurements about a month before surgery so I can at least compare back to that.

You sound like me.. I haven't wore a pair of jeans in YEARS!! My friends have taken me shopping twice and MADE me buy a pair of jeans and wear them out, but I never wore them again either time. I just never felt comfortable and felt like a fat pig and was miserable. I always wore dorky cotton pants all the time. Now I am wearing jeans and it feels great! It's an awesome feeling to finally be going down in weight.

Keep up the good work!!

Lolly,

I was the same wishing I had taken some measurements before surgery. Then one day I remembered that they had taken my measurements at my first surgery consult - maybe they did at yours too. It's easy to forget because it took so long to get through the process.

Good luck you'll be surprised when you take them.

Fatty no more,

I started at a size 20 pants and I am probably a 16 in pants and usually XXL now I am XL in tops sometimes L. It is tough because everything is cut differently as I am sure we are all aware of. Overall I have lost 44 inches as of this morning. Of course that is all the things I measure which is a lot of things. In the hips I am at 7 lost started at 48.5, waist I am at 4.5 lost started at 45, chest I am at 4 lost and started at 42.5. I have lost 31% of the weight that I started out wanting to lose.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
