I was banded a month ago, and I no longer feel the port when I move. It was almost like the stitches were pulling. But, I don't feel anything like that anymore.

i was banded a week ago and i can feel the band, especially when i lie on my stomach. it is a weird feeling. i don;t know if it is the stitches or the scar tissue or the band, but i am kind of hoping it goes away.

I can also feel the band, mostly when I'm lying on my back for some reason (I haven't slept on my stomach yet, which has been difficult since it's how I've been sleeping for 25 years).

I don't know whether I can feel my port or not, I think what I'm feeling is just soreness.

I can feel my port when I sit a certain way or when I'm lying down. After you heal though you should not feel it as prevelent as right after surgery.

I was banded in June and when I bend over to tie my left shoe it still likes to remind me it's there. It actually has been bothering me a little more then normal again.

I have the realize band and my husband and son have the lap band. They never feel anything and I know the ports are attached differently for each band. Dont know if that has something to do with it or not.

I'm 7 months out and am not far from goal weight. The more I loose, the more I can feel & see it. I can only imagine what it will look like the flatter my tummy gets. It isn't painfull, but my port is right at my bra line- really high up! So, it sometimes rubs by under wire. I just get reminded that it is there, but not enough to be painfull.

I was banded last week and it still hurts! I sneezed the other day and checked to see if it had flown out! I just knew I had ripped it! I guess everything is ok, I am not vomiting!

I'm 8 weeks out and completely healed. I can feel my port with my fingers or if I lean against the counter in the wrong way but for the most part don't even think about it all day!

I was banded almost one month ago and I don't have that feeling that you described anymore. Be patient, its a process of healing. And remember that everyone heals at a different pace.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
