stripper-uk 0 Posted October 13, 2009 I would like to start adding some mushy foods in, my GP is monitoring me at the moment but is by no means an expert, he is happy to weigh me and check bp etc Been sticking to liquids, am unbanded, aiming to shed final weight after loosing 50lb+ last year. Am feeling very full on liquids, ie. completly stuffed after 1 cup of broth or low cal hot choc(35cal). Struggling to get much over 150cal of liquids so know its time to try mushies Should I introduce these slowly? Also texture wise is small chunks okay or should it be entirely smooth?? Got some Beans yesterday so would like to experiment with these. Any advice would be fantastic Thanks in advance
Enchanted 2 Posted October 13, 2009 I'm not sure I understand. You don't have the LapBand? Why are you eating as if you do? Maybe I misread?
stripper-uk 0 Posted October 13, 2009 For weightloss purely, my GP is happy to keep an eye on me. I dropped from 70-50kg last year and still have a way to go. I am perfectly full with liquids but would love to add in some mushies. Will hunt about and read the recipe pages for mushies and try, see if a few spoonfools sounds good Thanks for the reply
Enchanted 2 Posted October 13, 2009 Ah...I get it now. So...on soft foods, I ate tuna...lots of tuna. I was allowed to mix with 1T of mayo. I was allowed 3 ounces of meat and 6 ounces of veg if desired. Salmon is another option that worked well for me. No potatoes or other starches. While pre-op, a friend suggested that I try eating as if I was banded to see if that would work. Totally not realistic for me. I'm glad it's working for you!
