Stupidity=me...interesting new kind of exercise...

Recommended Posts

So, just thought I'd post my "adventure" for the night....all off which revolved around my lapband surgery.

I do NOT want to buy more clothes right now, as I will be losing weight in the next few months. So, in order to leek out another few months of the same dress clothes, I decided I would just dye my faded black business casual pants back to pure black. I thought that having the shiny and black again would make them look "new".

I do not have a big enough pot to dye them on the stove, and I just bought a new washer and dryer, so I didn't want to dye them in there, for fear of turning the inside black.

So, I thought the next best thing would be to run a scaling hot bath and dye them in the bathtub. Well, it worked out fine and dandy, until I went to rinse the tub, and realized that I had turned my white tub black! What a stupid stupid stupid thing to do! Why did I not put two and two together when I decided I did not want to turn my white washer black?

Well, needless to say, 45 mintues of scrubing my tub with bleach has left the bottom 2 inches a light purple. Sigh....But, my arms got a great work out!

Anyway, just thought I'd share my "dumb moment"....I can NOT believe myself! Ugh....

Oh well, at least I saved myself $50 on another pair of black dress pants!

Hope you are all well!!

Sounds like something I might do!!

Try filling up the tub just above the dye stains and put in some clorox and let it soak over night. Clorox works good on most anything.......But, keep your black pants away from the clorox!

Just as I predicted! They look brand new!!!

Hahahahaha...I am STILL, several hours later, laughing about my momentary lapse in judgement. And, everytime I take a shower, I will see the purple stain, and it will be a good reminder of the progress I am making with my band!

Oh dear. Lol.

My SIL did the same to her dishwasher, unintentionally. She had one of those Fisher and Paykel dishdrawers and its intererior was very oddly white plastic. Every other dishwasher I've ever seen in my life had a stainless steel interior.

Anyway, it was a very whizz bang, expensive, fancy dishwasher six or seven years ago when they first came out. But one meal of spaghetti bolognaise and the inside was forever orange.

I notice they now have stainless steel interiors.

Just be sure you dont wash your *new* pants with any other clothes and dye them as well!

When I was in college, we trashed the carpet in our apt. Fearing we would lose the deposit, we decided to dye it dark green so the landlord would not notice. We figured he was too absentminded to know what carpet colors he used. It worked great with one problem. Everyone that came over that month had green feet for about 2 months...that stuff would not scrub off..just had to wear off. We got the deposit back

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
