Making a meal last for 30 minutes?????

Recommended Posts

Really, how do you do this? I am sitting here with my 1/2 cup of cream of wheat this morning and I am literally dipping the spoon and licking it off. I have been sitting here for about 10 minutes and it is almost gone (and getting cold- I hate cold food!) so I finally just set it aside.

Any ideas??

I've never figured out how you can make a meal last for 30 minutes and still have it hot. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Just eat your cream of wheat while it's hot and enjoyable, but be aware that you aren't just scarfing it down. Savor every spoonful and if it's gone in 10 minutes, it's gone.

I agree with ElfiePoo. Many times when I eat it does not take me the full 30 mins. The more solid the food, the slower I go. Cream of wheat or oatmeal go a bit faster, but I still get the full feeling and go on about my day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
