Dr. William Scott Pennington - Dr. Pennington is Wonderful!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery in Birmingham and Dr. Pennington was my Doctor that helped me change my life! His staff is very professional and his office has a wonderful Christian atmosphere. They are organized with through the whole process from the beginning to the end and will prepare you completely to help you succeed once the surgery is over. It has been 1 year and a month and I have a 10cc band and 6.25 fill. I have lost approx 85lbs thus far and went down so many sizes! My health is better than it has been in a long time and my self esteem is even better. This doctor impressed me with his confidence, gentleness, concern, and knowledge. I would recommend this doctor to all of my friends and family. Many thanks to Dr. Pennington and his staff for all they did to help me!

Dr. Pennington is my doctor. He is a very kind, compassionate and extremely skilled doctor. He takes time with you, makes you feel important, is willing to take the time to answer all your questions and I am very thankful to have found such a wonderful doctor. His office staff is top notch and the preparation and information that you receive prior to your surgery is very informative. The after care is wonderful as well. I feel very blessed to have found such a fantastic bariatic surgeon and would recommend him to anyone.

I'm currently researching Dr. Pennington and i have seen/heard nothing but awesome things about this man, his work, and his office. I'm pretty positive i would like to make him my surgon for Lap-Band surgey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
