TxMomof4 0 Posted October 8, 2009 I am so glad to see this thread! I too have struggled with this issue. When I got banded in April I was a size 16, now I am a 6. I wonder if it happened so fast that I mind hasnt caught up? I can stand in front of the mirror and see changes, but I nitpick everything I see. Sag here, a puch (sp) there, wrinkles overthere! Pictures are a whole other issue. I see me as I was not as I supposedly am. I think I will take the advice from above and go find pics and then take a current one so I can see the changes. Hopefully I can see the changes Deanna
MsFab1988 275 Posted October 9, 2009 I only have this problem when I step on the scale. I'll sometimes think that I gained weight so ill move the thing up instead of down. And when the little thing doesnt move im like omgg I lost alot of weight?!...so I second guess myself at times but then I remember how I changed my eating habbits n excersize n thats y Im successful. But even though I only lost 25 pounds so far, I still go shopping. I guess for me, its a motivation! My number 1 goal is to be able to go inside any store and buy anything I want! I remember when I lost 15 pounds, I was able to buy like 5 nice tops, 2 nice jackets and a pair of jeans. Now that I lost 25lbs I went from a size 24 to a size 20 so I brought myself a nice jean and next week I plan on buying blk jeans and a few shirts. So I guess the more I lose weight, the more I wanna go buy because its a step closer to my goal weight of 160. But I wont buy alot since I will be losing more weight. And trust, when im 160, Im going on a $1,000 shopping spree! Im cleaning out stores lol
VLOslund 0 Posted October 9, 2009 This thread inspired my to go home last night and try on an old pair of pants that I assumed were 2 sizes too small for me. And they fit perfectly!!! Now I am on a mission to throw out and donate all of these baggy clothes I have been hiding under! I have a long way to go but these little victories can really be the best! Best of luck to all of us!
DB1119 0 Posted October 13, 2009 I am not yet banded. I had my psych consult on Friday and on e of the issues the Doc told me to be mindful of is that it takes a while for your mind to catch up to your body and that the loss will not register right away. This sounds like the issue that many of you are going through.
