Weight is all over the place

Recommended Posts

Howdy all! My clothes are getting bigger and I am definitely losing inches. However, when I weigh, my scale is all over the place. Has this happened to anyone else?

Not sure what you mean? Maybe you need a new scale.

I notice when I up my workout that sometimes I gain a pound or two. Remember....muscle weighs more than fat.

When you gain muscle and lose fat it may take a while for the scale to catch up. As long as your clothes are getting loser, you know you are trimming down.

Most scales are extremely inaccurate. Especially the modern digital kind. the big old fashioned ones that they have at the Dr's are still supposed to be the most accurate. I always weigh myself in the morning when I get up. Some days if I get on and off the scales 3 times in a row I will get 3 different readings!

Same here, in the past week I have been 183 to 190. No exercise that would have given muscle. I have a digital and it is 3- 5 lbs. higher than my surgeron's digital. They told me theirs is calibrated daily. I am just happy that mine says more that theirs. And yes, I can get on mine, walk out the room and get back on for a different weight. Husband says if the size 12's fit, just don't kill the scale.< /p>

your weight can fluctuate daily due to Water retention. Make sure your drinking enough liquids and only weigh yourself once a week.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
