Do you think it would offend anyone if I brought my chopper with me to dinner? I can not seem to cut my meat up small enough, so I use my chopper for every meal now. It is small and will fit in my bag, I use it at restaurants now, and am curious about the ship. I actually own 2 of them, one I keep in the vehicle and one at home, so that if we decide while we are out, to grab dinner, I will have it. It is the small Hamilton Beach chopper, battery operated.

Thinking now that I have had this 3rd fill and I am really noticing restriction more than ever, I really need to keep small.

THANKS.

Hey, you're paying for the cruise! However, if you ask, you may be able to get your meat cut up very small right from the kitchen. If you're eating from a buffet and the people at your table don't mind, then go for it.....remember, you're paying for the cruise...not them. You don't even have to tell them that you had lapband...you can say you have a health problem that requires you to chop your meat. Make up a silly name for the problem! Have some fun with it.

Thanks, I have no problem with telling people that I have the band. I just want to make sure I have a great time, and not get a stuck issue. I have had one, and NEVER want to experience that ever again.

I will be taking my chopper, and if people don't like it, they can deal with it. Probably won't do the buffet much, as I do enjoy the dining room. My boyfriend and my cousin, are both aware of my issues, and if we have a table for 2, no big deal, if we have a larger table, I will still chop.

Just trying to picture this chopper, how it works and why it's not possible to cut up meat small enough with a knife and fork?

NB. I agree with the previous poster that said you are paying for the cruise so you can do whatever you need to do .

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
