Guest normie Posted October 9, 2005 I was just banded this past Monday 10/3. However, here it is Saturday evening and I still have very bad pains on my shoulder which I understand are due to gas problems. I have done the walking with my hands up in the air to make me look like a monkey . But I thought for sure by now it would be gone, any ideas or suggestions on how to get rid of it? The only thing that seems to help some is to lay down with a heating pad. Any help would be appreciated. Norma
ReneBean 3 Posted October 9, 2005 I remember reading a post where someone got relief by lying down with their tush raised up toward the sky. I think the concept was that the gas would rise to the highest point it could... Hope you feel better, soon.
Guest j. lynn Posted October 10, 2005 walk, walk, walk. Then walk again. Really, only time will make it go away. In another week, you won't remember what it feels like. jayme
Kathy473 1 Posted October 10, 2005 If you have a rocking chair or a computer chair that leans back...rock, rock, rock and take Gas-X...that is the only thing that helped me....Hope this helps!
Bensmum1109 0 Posted October 10, 2005 My husband massaged my shoulders and that helped a lot. I also read on another thread that papaya tablets help?

Sherrie 0 Posted October 12, 2005 Hey there - I was banded 10/6 and gas pains creep up around my left shoulder blade at times. My husband rubs and gently pounds on my back. Helps a lot. What are you eating?
Mcgraw-addict 0 Posted November 4, 2005 This sounds kind of silly but it worked for me. I took a pillow and held it over my port area because it was sore, then I sat on the edge of the bed and gently bounced up an down, and it would cause me to burp! LOL I must say, sorry to be gross, but I never thought passing gas would feel so good during those first post op days!! I was like "Yippeee"!!! LOL I walked alot and took gas x. It will get better!
