A great way to get your Protein and Water intake for the day is mixing a protein bullet in with your water. I mix Proslam protein bullet (42grms) with my water everyday, along with drinking the EAS Protein Shakes (44 grms) and usually chicken or fish for dinner (10-22grms) and I have reached my goal. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Try this, my doctor is really pushing it. 42 grams of Protein in a 3 oz shot. The taste blows, but one of these a day will supplement your Protein.< /p>

I love some of the Protein Bars on the market. Cliff Bars have a new line that offer 20 grams of Protein per bar. I enjoy the mint chocolate. A little high in calories (240) but I compensate for it. I have tried almost all the Protein Drinks and powders on the market! My favorite is WonderSlim fruit Punch, which I mix with Crystal Light Fruit Punch. TRULY (and I wouldn't lie on this site) you can't taste the protein in this drink. It's yummy!

By the way, one more thing. I mix my Protein Shots with Crystal Light. It gives the shot a better flavor. I get 26 gram Protein shots in the nutrition aisle in Walmart. $9.97 for six shots.

Will you gain weight if you eat over the recommended 60g a day?. It's all a bit confusing for me!. I'm just about to have my surgery and I'm trying to get as much information as possible.

thanks.

I'd add a good-quality Protein supplement. My favorite is the PURE unflavored whey protein isolate from Bariatric Eating. I stir in into all kinds of things to bump up the protein.

Holy smack - 60 g? YIKES! I am struggling to get in 40 at this point....UGH! I am addicted to Wendy's chili - a large has 28 grams of protein....and it is so yummy.

Guess I will start sampling some shakes and see what I can find that I like - my mom like the Atkins ones...but I got burned out on them pre surgery........

hmm doing the .37 math thing makes me need 82 grams per day...after paying close attention to journaling all food, that puts me at about half of what I am supposed to get and explains the insane amount of hair falling out. I'm going to look at my Protein supps and see what I need to do to get the grams up. This could also explain the lack of weight loss I am experiencing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
