My nutritionist recommended Muscle Milk LIGHT. I get them in chocolate and really do like them. two thumbs up

costco now carries muscle milk lite RTD chocolate. I am very happy as it's the only kind I can drink!

Unjury or Muscle Milk get my vote! Oh so tasty! I am lactose intolerant so I use soy milk .. still tastes great.

Muscle Milk Light is ok. I've tried the ready-to-drink 100 calorie chocolate flavor, and I consider it drinkable. The actual chocolate taste is good, but it is very heavy on the artificial sweeteners. It contains 15g of Protein and only 5g carbs. I'm probably going to try the EAS AdvantEdge shakes next to see if they taste less artificial.

The light chocolate actually has 20 grams of protein. The mint chocolate lite has 15 grams and only 100 cals opposed to 160.

What serving size are you comparing to? I just pulled my carton out of the trash to confirm that the 8.25 oz Muscle Milk Light chocolate contains 100 calories, 15g of Protein, and 5g carbs. I have seen some 11 ounce bottles at the grocery store, so we may be confusing serving sizes. The one I am talking about is like a cardboard carton.

It has been a little over a month since my surgery, so I have been having Protein Shakes for about two months now. My favorite is Unjury (which I ordered online) because it is not too sweet and doesn't taste chalky. If you mix it with Water, like I do, you get 20 grams of Protein and it tastes like a Carnation instant Breakfast. It comes in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry is my absolute favorite. The strawberry tastes great mixed with Crystal Light lemonade. It is great with milk, but I hate to add those carbs. Check it out online.

Wow. Mine is also 8.5 fl oz, 20 gr protein, 160 cals, 9 gr carbs and it is muscle milk lite. This I purchased at costco, but it's the same as I have purchased at a couple other places. I have had the chocolate mint that was 100 cals, but never saw the chocolate at 100. And, it is also in the cardboard box with the straw!

Dude, that is just crazy! The same product bought at two different stores has different nutrition info. This really highlights the need to check all labels. I bought mine at Target, for the record.

I did want to report in on a couple of other brands I tried this week, both purchased at Target. The first was Pure Protein brand Frosty Chocolate flavor. It is an 11 ounce can that contains 21g protein, 110 calories, and 5g carbs. It's pretty mild, with a good chocolate taste and not too much artificial sweetener. The texture is rather thin, almost like drinking a Yoohoo (although I admit it has been about 10 years since I had one of those, so don't rely on that too much). It's pretty tolerable when ice-cold.

The other one was EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control in Chocolate Fudge. It comes in 11 oz cardboard cartons and contains 17g protein, 110 calories, and 4g carbs. This one has a different protein blend from most of the others, relying more on soy, but still containing some milk protein. You can definitely taste the soy - it has an odd plastic-like flavor. The chocolate taste is rather distant, and the sweetener is a little on the strong side for my taste. The shakes are at least drinkable, but I probably won't buy them again.

I was pushed towards Unjury by the dietician at the doctors office. Many flavors. I found however after a few days I was getting super sensitive to the too sweet (strawberry sorbet flavor started great but wow too sweet now) and have tried the chicken Soup flavor. Perfect. Salty, not sweet and tastes like Chicken Soup. I also went out and bought a soy based banana flavored one, can't remember the brand from Vitamin World and that is good too, not super sweet.

Ya ask for 2 cents, I give ya a dime...:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
