List of October Bansters

Recommended Posts

Good Morning to all, I was banded on 10/15/09.So far my restriction is still pretty tight. I ve lost 31 lbs so far. I have visited my Doc once with of course many complaints...I just get weak feeling, flutters in my chest. He sent me to the hospital just for a quick ck in emergency room. My body is just a big protestor of the starvation mode haha ! My biggest surprize in the ER was the doc said he wanted to show me something..he liffted up his scrub shrit to notice the marks of a banded person. He was 6 months out 50 lbs liter and feeling great. What a comforting site:lol:

I was banded on 10-12-09. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired as well. A week after surgery the Dr. took out what little Fluid I had in my band because I could not get more than a sip or two of Water down at a time. It was really aggravating my hernia operation too. So now I am completely unfilled and waiting on my first fill, next week thank goodness! Fortunately, the 4 weeks on a liquid diet has helped me with not being able to overeat, but without any restriction, I have had to monitor how much I eat on my own.

I am loving the band, and will love it more when I get my first fill. 25 lbs down, more to go.

Banded 10/28, had my first fill today. It was really creepy to have a huge needle inserted into your tummy and not really feel it. I have lost about 20 pounds plus or minus. I am real happy with the band now that the left chest pain has finally faded.

Wow! 34 pounds?? Great job~! I was banded October 10th and I have only lost 20 pounds. Should have had a fill 2 weeks ago but chickened out. Since then I havent lost any weight because I havent started going to the gym yet and I havent been eating the best ( getting paid once a month kills me the last 2 weeks of the month since I have to pay off the surgery, students loans etc). Can't wait for my first fill on Saturday and getting paid on the 25th means gym and better eating :bored:

I thought it was a little soon myself for a fill, but the DR said I was progressing nicely. Another thing that makes a huge factor is the distance, I have to drive for 2 hours to get to the hospital. It was really cool when they let me do my post-op interview over the phone. With the chest pain I did not feel like driving.

Couple of things I have noticed though. Today I am sick to my stomach, and I am trying to get a Protein Shake down (Liquids after fill) and my hands are shaking. Not noticebly unless I am holding the glass close to my face and I have a terrible headache. But, maybe I picked something up at the hospital which is possible. Oh well, I am getting happier by the day when I see the Wii fit scale count my BMI Down !!!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
