My nut said I should be eating 1000 calories a day and at least 60 grams of Protein. Well I have been doing that from the beginning, and have been loosing up until 2 weeks ago. I have not lost anything! I haven't changed anything along with working out 4-5 times a week.

Out of frustration, I looked online to see how many calories I should be eating a day to reach my goal weight. It stated I should be eating 1700 calories and 97 grams of protein with the amount of exercising I am doing. Also, that weight loss will happen in the beginning but then my body will eventually go into starvation mode and I will not loose anymore. Which I am wondering what is happening now? Is it possible that I am in starvation mode and unable to loose weight? I know the band is a tool and I use it as if it is. But honestly, without snacking in between meals, how can I get 1700 calories in a day and eat healthy?

The calorie/protein count seems a bit high. You really should contact your nutritionist or surgeon. Everyone's needs are different, based on their weight and activity level. It is very normal for your weight loss to plateau, and I don't believe your body is in starvation mode if you are eating the proper amount of Protein. Be patient, and stick to yout nut's guidlines.

Good luck!

1700 calories is way too high for weight loss. This may have been a figure for maintenance.

Remember you should be listening to the professionals that you are paying to help you through this journey.

Information found online is not always accurate, reliable or appropriate to your situation.

I added a couple TBS of Peanut Butter when my wt loss slowed and I immediately started losing again. I eat it often now. I think we often do not get enough good fat in our diet.

Hey i would say your only plateaued for 2 weeks. thats not bad id stick with what your doing and give it like another week or 2.. and if your doing 1000 cals a day id switch it up.. one day take in like 1200 and another 900. and switch up your diet a lil dont eat the same foods allthe time. you dont need to consume too much more to get out of starvation mode just by eating at different tmes during the day and fluctuating the amount of calories you take in a day should help to kick start it again.. also when you work out you doo gain muscle soo your body might be adjusting to that now. but its good cause ur loosing inches maybe not the scale, .. def give it some more time. goodluck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
