MrgrtVntll 0 Posted September 28, 2009 I never thought to ask my doctor this question, after LapBand surgery does the doctor prescribe pain meds? I never really thought about it until after reading some of the boards...where people talk about the pain.
Donnainva 0 Posted September 28, 2009 Mine gave me an Rx for Vicodin--many people get one for a liquid pain medicine. The chances are you will need/want something for the few days after surgery
JenFenRen 0 Posted September 28, 2009 My Dr prescribed liquid Lortab (same as Vicodin), though I only used it the day I got home.
kiz 1 Posted September 28, 2009 I came home with a prescription pain reliever and a On-Q PainBuster ball that kept the surgical area completely numb for 24 hours. When the ball is empties, you simply pull the catheter out. A plastic tipped catheter was inserted just above the port site while I was under sedation, and there's a small ball that it held in a fanny pack that holds the meds. It gave me total numbness in the area, so I ended up only taking a few of the vicodin I was given. I went straight to liquid adult formula Tylenol on the third day.
