Ebony - My 19 year old daughter got a band December of last year. She is on here too! :sad:

Hi CC! *waving*

Ya know, I just clean forgot your daughter was here, too...would you send me her id again, so I can point my daughter in her direction? They may have already connected, but I would love for her to have another banded friend online - especially one where I know what good people she comes from! :sad:

someone has to offer me a job first - I can't just show up at an organization, waltz in, sit down, arrange a salary and start working without being an employee....or can i?

If anybody could pull that off, you could, tap. I say give it a try. Just show up somewhere and start barking orders. If somebody questions you, just say you're from the home office.

Sadly she does not "get" why we are no longer friends. She spent 2 years lying to me, while she was involved with my ex husband.

Are you serious? How does she not "get" that?

My DD is in the preliminary process of getting a band - she's now on LBT as arianad09

Wow, I hope she's as successful as you've been!! What a great role model!

I thought he looked too lean and tall to be a purebred. Are the 'seers really that different body-type wise? I haven't seen too many pics of them but they always "looked" like a regular newf, just different colors.

Technically, landseers ARE Newfs....but some Newf people don't really accept them. Plus, every couple of generations, 'seers have to be bred back to "pure" Newfs or they stop looking less and less like a newf. Is that clear as mud? lol

Have you been able to get Tug asleep long enough to measure him? Maybe YOU have the biggest doggie!!! Post pics of him, 'kay. Please!!!!!

I'll try to do that tonight!

The inside of the house was just filthy. I don't know how anyone can live like that!!

This is how thick the grass/weeds were in the area where I am sitting (in the above photo):

Wow! That looks like an abandonded house! You've made brilliant progress...

Tap, preparing the garden for winter is kind of sad, but my DH gets perverse pleasure out of finding wierd things to mix in the soil over the non growing season! He brings home metal shavings, Iron, and sprinkles around, and then dusts the snow with stuff that melts in as it does. He never leaves it alone.

Now in his defense, our gardens, and pots look amazing, and people are shocked by them, and he swears it is that......so maybe you should do his thing and spend the winter spoiling the soil!!!

We have a game tonight, if the fields are fit to be played on, it is raining. I hate this weather, I never know how to dress, it is freezing in the morning and late evening, and hot in the middle! LOL

Will likely check back in with all of you in the morning.....off to work with me.....the friggin' fun never ends!

Here's a before and after shot of the main part of the area I did:

Fanny, you did an AMAZING job!!!! Looks like a totally different house! WTG!!!

How's that fill treating you? You doin' okay now?

HI everyone! Missing my morning chats with Slim, sigh...

Heart - yes indeed, it was dead in here yesterday. Your day sounds less fun than Fanny's - cleaning up bear peed garbage and scat! Hope you're feeling better.

As for me, another rainy Monday. Frost last night...still lingering at 8am. overnight was 28 degrees....

I miss Slim too!

I didn't pick up the scat, it can stay out there! It's out back where we aren't very often. I don't pick up critter poop unless it's a hinderance to us and it normally ISN'T!

Oh and he was back last to to knock the can over. Nothing in it b/c he'd already eaten all of it but I guess he thought he should check anyway!

Yikes! :yikes:

Yep, a REAL bear! LOL! Ya gotta remember that I live in the mountains! We have all kinds of critters here. 'Course I'd be a fish out of Water where you live! Can't imagine! Love to see your area but then I always want to come home again.

How are you today?!

Technically, landseers ARE Newfs....but some Newf people don't really accept them. Plus, every couple of generations, 'seers have to be bred back to "pure" Newfs or they stop looking less and less like a newf. Is that clear as mud? lol

Yep, I got it! I have to say that I prefer the "pure" newfs too. Tho I would rescue a mix, if I'm going to get a "Newf" he's going to be black or brown/bronze.

Saw my doc yesterday. He gave me back .5. Thought about doing the whole 1 but since I keep having to go back for unfills and I was in a good spot BEFORE the last one, we'll put the other .5 back next month.

I'll have to check back later. Need to go get DD from school. TTFN!

Her name is chelsbels on here. She just posted some pics of her progress. She is in her underpants - I am not sure how I feel about that! If you click on my name you will see her in my friends list. She is also on Facebook.< /p>

PJTP...

Absolutely rotten sort of a day...started off with a email from my supervisor - something I did honestly mess up, so of course now I'm feeling stressed about that...

Follow up from the big boss regarding a change made to our merchant account, which I asked him about, he said go ahead, then said he didn't give me the approval. It's all about semantics - he said "take care of it" but did not explicitly say "change the information". Go figure...I thought "Take care of it" was approval - evidently I am mistaken.

Band is tight - took me all morning to get down and Isopure Protein Drink, at lunch late (leftover risotto and Tomato parmesan soup) and that nearly got stuck!

I am SO ready for this day to be over...I can't even explain it...be glad to go home, curl up in front of the fireplace and forget all about this day...

At least until the inevitable "performance" meeting gets scheduled at which time they will either give me another unpaid vacation or fire me.

Still no word on the other job I had the informational meeting about last week, but yesterday was a holiday for them, so they were closed.

Bright spot - tried on a wrap dress that I wore last year, and it wrapped WAY around me...still works, but it's kinda funny that it wraps so far I have no worries about a gust of wind blowing my dress open too far :biggrin:

BBL...I hope! :thumbup:

Hey Heart...you're pulling double posting duty - here and on the thread for the thread homeless....glad to see you here!

As for critters, although I'd expect bears if I live where you do, I wouldn't want to see them...unless they and I are separated by a thick steel door or something.:thumbup::scared2:

Approach those fills slow but steady....

Well, I always add my compost, and dryer lint and cat fur...but metal shavings? I suppose though it adds iron to the soil...but man oh man, I'd be sure to always wear gloves when planting/weeding just in case!!! Who'd have thunk it?!?!:thumbup::blink:

Congrats on the dress!

Yea, I was invited to join soon after the DRAMA and I was in flux so now I post there too. Nice people over there. Still getting to know folks. Won't leave here tho, still my home base! :)

It's pretty cool when you get to see the critters but it's a little startling sometimes. For the most part, if you use your head, things are good.

And all the preceeding posts were in honor of someone who we all know and love....:lol:

:w00t: :thumbup:

Well, please tell the honoree that said person is missed!!!

~~~~~
Okay, I need to build an Ark! LOL!! It's still pouring and last I looked, about mid-afternoon, rain gauge was showing 2 inches and filling fast! It'll be interesting to see how full it is by morning. It'll also be interesting to see if we have any branches and/or trees down in the AM. It is VERY windy and we are getting some pretty BIG gusts too. Glad DH is home. I don't get as nervous when he's home b/c if something happens, he's home to deal with it and I don't! I don't mind the wind so much during the day b/c I can see what's going on, at night, I can only hear it! :eek:
Well, I'm losing battery power. Better close up shop and get plugged in. Headed to bed soon.
'Night y'all!
Morning all!
Time to do a roll-call, and see who is still around...problem is, I would likely miss someone by accident and then I'd feel bad. So, all PJTP (round 2), pop in and give us an update! And bring a friend (if they are of a similar mindset).
Has anyone heard from/been in contact with G4E recently? If someone is talking with her, please give her my best wishes.
Heart - i hear you about the rain...echos of my last summer! Although raining here still, it isn't the torrential rains of last week, and we are getting the occasional break.
Fanny - hope things are going well in your cleaning/move.
Ebony - hope you hear something soon!
Gotta get moving...
      Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?
      2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜
        I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!
        I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍
    • LeighaTR
      I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!
      Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!
        I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗
      2. Doughgurl
        Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.
        I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
