SD-MTN-MAN 1 Posted September 23, 2009 I just wanted to introduce myself, I am a 45 y/o male who lives in Pine Valley, CA. Up in the mountains, 4000 feet, east of San Diego. I have struggled with weight all of my life and have my Lap-Band on 06 October 2009, and started my pre-op Protein Shake diet yesterday. I am feeling very tired and lethargic, but, this is nothing for a chance to turn my life around. Later Dave
kiz 1 Posted September 23, 2009 Dave, I know, for me, the first couple days on the pre-op diet pretty much sucked. I felt tired, and I was craving real food. Things really turned around on day three. I think my body started adjusting to the absence of carbs and fat. I hope you start to feeling better soon, and good luck with your surgery. It sounds like you're highly motivated to be successful. *susan* 1,709 Posted September 23, 2009 Hi Dave, and welcome to LBT! Like Kiz said, I found things started to level out after the third day as well. From there on out, it was much easier. Keep us posted on how you are doing and let us know if you have any questions.

SD-MTN-MAN 1 Posted September 24, 2009 Thanks I am hanging in there. On one level it feels very nice to eat so healthily, just not used to it I suppose.
SD-MTN-MAN 1 Posted September 24, 2009 Hey All: How do I add a picture so that it appears when I post or reply? Also How does one add the "weight ticker" to their signature line when they post? Dave
kcmagu 3 Posted September 25, 2009 SDMTNMN - For adding a picture (also known as an avatar) just go to your public profile (easy way to get there - just click on your name) when your profile is on the screen - towards the middle top of the page is a button you can push to 'customize profile' from there you can click in 'edit avatar' and upload any picture from your computer. For the wt loss ticker - google ticker factory and they will walk you through the steps. I hope this helps somewhat - please let me know if I can help out any further. Have a great day! Humming Bird 275 Posted September 25, 2009 Hello to u there in the CA Mountians from the Co Mountains ! I live at 8,500 ft. You will also feel very tired and weak for quite some time after the surgery, but it does get better. You will be happy you chose to get banded. it sometimes takes awhile to figure out the weight loss tickers. You can just click on someone else's ticker to get there. Make your own ticker. Then you copy/paste the code in your signature area here. You paste it in the large signature area that looks like you could type in a message there.

sandiegokate 0 Posted September 25, 2009 *waving east to the mountains* Hi there! I live in San Diego, although not up there in the mountains.. so pretty up there! :scared2: The anticipation of it all was so much more than the reality, for me anyway. I was so overprepared for everything, worried I wasn't going to make it through, etc. The first couple of days of the pre-op diet was tough but then it was smooth sailing. What helped me was egg drop Soup. I added extra broth to it, ate it just about every day. Who is your doc? I checked out just about everyone in SD and eventually went to Dr. Bhoyrul. We're lucky to have a few good options here in our county. Best of luck to you!! I look forward to your updates!
