I am still surprised at how slow the weight comes off when I am hardly eating anything - Protein Shake for Breakfast - small lunch like tuna salad and then light dinner - compared to what I was eating - I am almost a year and a half out and am down only 25 lbs - better than being up but I would have thought by now would have lost about 40. I had 50 to lose so half way there just taking way longer than I thought it would. Just venting.

I have been thinking about this situation (because I worry that I will share it) and have two thoughts: (1) Perhaps you need to increase your calorie intake to get your body out of starvation mode so that it doesn't feel the need to hold onto every single calorie, or (2) Maybe you were such a weight loss pro before you got the band that your body needs something more to get it kickstarted. Are you exercising?

I think you should try to eat Protein for breakfast instead of drinking it. My Dr. say only eat portein and not drink it that the band was designed for eating solid food, not drinking your meals. I do not know if that will help you or not just a thought. I know a lot of people here drink Protein Shakes but my Dr. say not to, maybe try it for a week and see if it works, can't hurt. Hope it speeds up for you!

As anti-intuitive as it sounds, I think you need to eat MORE calories to enable your body to let go of its fat stores.

I would also need to vent. I am down about 57lbs. in 6 months and I am upset with me. I am lucky that I am able to eat most things with 2 fills, but my problem has been some bad choices.

I have tried to keep some variety in my diet, and get in my fluids but I just haven't exercised like I should. You may not be eating enough for you body to know it's not starving. I would suggest you keep a really detailed journal for about 2 weeks and then sit down with your nutritionist (if possible). She should be able to tell you where you might need to make changes. Also I read recently that many of the things we think are good for us or that are low cal, really aren't.

I have been stalled almost 6 weeks so I did liquids for a day and a half, and started doing a "Belly Dance" workout. It fun and might tighten me up. I have lost 4 lbs. in 3 days. Don't give up, but get whatever help you can to get it moving.

I agree with the others who say to increase your calorie intake. It doesn't sound like you are eating enough. I'm 4 months out and have noticed the last couple weeks that my loss has slowed alot and I think one of the reasons is that I wasn't eating enough. So this week I've started to vary my diet and trying to eat a little more. We'll see how it goes, but I think that's what you should try. And I agree about eating your Protein instead of drinking it. A shake is good for a snack, but not for a meal! And as you said, you're already halfway there, don't beat yourself up about it!
