does anyone have really loud girgling type noises?

Recommended Posts

hey,

ive had surgery 2 and half months ago. I just had my 3rd fill last fri. I started to notice as i eat and about hald hr to an hr after i get these rediculously loud girgling, bubbling type of noises..No joke people can hear it. Whats that about? anyone else have that at this point in their journey?

does it go away?

Hows everyone doing if anyones at this point in the road 2 and half months in..3 fills i think im at 6.4. In terms of restriction I have it, but not conistent. I can graze throughout the day but there are def certain foods I cant have to much of.

Good luck all. and if anyone can share id love the input.

I do have what I call "gurgling" or small burps that don't come out. They seem to be in my esophygus. And , yes, people have heard mine.

I can, sometimes, also feel, and hear when my food passes through my band into my big stomach. Weird!

I'm curious to see what answers you get.

Joanie )

hey thanks me too.

it doesnt resemble a burp to me.. its literly noises taht last a few seconds. And i get it every so often even now as i chew gum. It just makes noises. almost like a cracking old door.. i cant find a better way to discribe it. or a creek from woodn plank on old floors.

I wonder if this will remain or does it come and go.

it is weird!

yep, this is totally normal. It only began for me once I had my last fill (well over a year ago) so its definitely a restriction thing.

It makes me imagine a stopped up sink, you know how stuff bubbles and percolates when you try to get something thick to go down? Its like that. You get the bubble and girgle, but no actual burp.

It can be loud - usually mine is fairly subtle, but I was at a funeral the other day and it was really embarrassing as I was sitting so close to other people and it was so quiet in there.

I get a gurgle in my esophagus and for me that is a sign that I am done eating for that meal. That's the only time I have it.

At my last fill in July when they had me drink Water the nurse said she wanted to make sure I wasn't gurgling after sipping the Water, so I assume that kind of gurgle is bad and would mean too much restriction.

Yes, I have always made gurgling sounds. I am just used to it. No one has mentioned hearing it but I am sure that they can now and then.

I tend to gurgle alot...especially when I'm having a tight day or right after eating. I'll even make noises when I'm talking! My nurse calls them the Chewbacca sounds. It seemed to start after my last fill. It is more of a minor nuisance than anything.

I get that too. I've warned my co-workers in case they hear it. They say they can't hear it. I usually get it right before meal time. No biggie....just funny! LOL!

I do gurgle sometimes but what I do more than that is choke like I have to continually clear my throat like I am choking and then I cough - I think I may be too tight

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
