RestlessMonkey 7 Posted September 20, 2009 It isn't hard for everyone to eat chicken. I can eat chicken (dry, moist, white meat, dark meat, fried, baked, boiled, roasted, stir fried) just fine.
lingra 1 Posted September 20, 2009 Yes! It's not just me. I have seen so many post about a lot of us, that are unable to eat chicken. I tried eating a piece of chicken last saturday and thought I was going to die. It was stuck and would not move. This is the 3rd time this has happened with chicken. I've tried it cooked several different ways and kept it very moist. I ate a very small piece and chewed it to death. Now, I'm afraid of chicken and will not try to eat it again. kiz 1 Posted September 20, 2009 Great question. I really don't understand it either. chicken is one of my staple foods, and I fix it, usually baked, once a week. I've eaten it out many times too with no trouble. However, the only real icky stuck episode I had was with stringy tough chicken from a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the chicken and broccoli (takeout), and I kept eating when I knew with every core of my being things were not right. It was the first time I had gotten stuck, and I was naive enough to think I could just power through the dinner even though my body was begging me to stop. My chest felt tight, my nose started running, I sighed, hiccuped and then all hell broke loose..lol I slimed for a few minutes, grabbed some papaya enzyme chewables I had on hand (for just in case), and felt better after a few minutes. Thankfully, I was home.
FighterGirl 1 Posted September 20, 2009 If it is dry and stringy it is not going down. The Tyson Fajita chicken (precooked and frozen) is the answer, it is most and very tender.
pickles123 0 Posted September 20, 2009 One of the reasons some people can not eat chicken is because when it is cooked too long it actually changes its total chemical composition, as do eggs. They are not the product you actually started out with. Often chicken in Soups and other pre made products are not started with the best quality chicken and then they are processed at high heat. Chinese food is one. It is usually not the best quality and then smothered in sauces to make it seem most. A good way to cook chicken is to be gentle with it. Not our mothers way. They taught us to cook until not pink and then cook some more. Chicken takes very little cooking. It is hard I know I like to cook it to death and I know better. For example if you make Tortilla Soup. Make the soup and then add the lightly cooked chicken at the end to just heat it up. It does not need to be cooked after adding to the broth. Another good thing to do to get chicken more tender is to pound the skinless boneless chicken breasts very thin to break up the fibers and cook very quickly. I hate to say it but I taught food and nutrition and am fat.
