tjr4949 0 Posted September 19, 2009 Banded 2005 not very sucessful due to eating Cookies and sugary junk with the excuse that nothing else will go down. Had a total unfil to have a baby. Didn't gain. Got a good fill a year ago and tried a bit harder but it's a constant battle, diet is poor, can't eat fish, fruit, white meat, Pasta etc so just fill up on cookies - i know it's terrible but that's what got me here in the first place. Have been losing really slowly but still it's a loss (average 0.5lbs in 2 weeks) over time. Suddenly this week, boom, no restriction at all - nothing for a week. Any idea's? No pain. Can't really afford to see consultant this month - if it is pouch dialation or slippage is it dangerous? Would really appreciate any idea's/ experiences. beeba7597 0 Posted September 20, 2009 I would definately call the drs. office and ask them what they think. It sounds like there might be slippage and that would be very dangerous. They should not charge you for a phone call.
hmarko 0 Posted September 20, 2009 It could also be that the tube disconnected and the saline has left the band. I don't think this is dangerous but don't quote me. I asked my surgeon what can happen if I fall off horseback riding (i regularly ride) and she said usually the port disconnects and you would know that because suddenly you are eating a lot. LollyMoe 1 Posted September 20, 2009 Eating Cookies instead of a proper diet!!!!!!!! No wonder you're not losing. Get a grip on yourself and re-motivate. Also, figure out what your surgery and fills cost you. Then divide how many Cookies you eat to determine what each one of those cookies cost you....besides the weight you haven't lost. Seriously, you need to rethink all the WHYS of having the band to begin with. Go back to the beginning and start again. You deserve to be smaller and to be kind to yourself. A cookie isn't worth it. Also, call your doctor's office and speak to the nurse. They can help you and should not charge for a phone call. Good luck.
