belle75067 0 Posted September 18, 2009 Hi everyone, I haven't been on in a while since I got a new computer and lost my log in info. I hope everyone has been doing ok. So, here is my question to anyone who has moved after having their surgery. I had my surgery in august 06 and had it done in dallas. I have since moved away from dallas about 5 hrs away. I went last august and had a fill done and lost about 20 more lbs but I really feel I need a fill but don't want to go all the way back to dallas to get another one. I have called all the doctors in my area (abilene, lubbock, odessa, midland) and they all say I have to go back to the doctor that did my procedure which kind of sucks. I even offered to sign a release form so in case anything went wrong I would not take action. Has anyone moved and had this complication and if they did, were you ever able to get a fill away from where you had your procedure? Thanks, Dieta:smile2:
kiz 1 Posted September 18, 2009 Belle, did you call your surgeon to ask for a referral to a doctor in your new area? Moving was also a concern of mine, and I asked my doctor about how it would be handled during one of our pre-op meetings. He said that he would help me find a new doctor in the case of a move, and that it happens regularly.
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted September 18, 2009 Or ask the surgeons in your area if you have your medical records, will they treat you? Because your surgeon would/should provide them!
