My 6yo daughter has just seen the pic and here is what she says it is...

dinner things that you eat with. Some things are knives, some things are spoons, and some things are dinner hooks. A dinner hook is what you put food on, like meat and fruit and vegetables. The holes are to let the juice of Beans and stuff come out. Like soak juice and stuff like that. And those are decorations for the knives. That's all I can tell.

Sounds great to me?

I'm going with table cloth holders, although the table would have to be mighty thin...even a standard card table wouldn't work.

OR, Stien markers. You know, the big German metal beer stiens? Is that how you spell that? STIEN? Anyhow, they don't seem very safe for use on glassware, but metal mugs, maybe. ???

How about a website for antiques, like Antiques Roadshow, or that new show, What's in the Attic? or something? Any ideas for leads as to who to ask?

My mom is going to try the radio station in the morning for me. Maybe morning hours are better. She can talk to the DJ who holds the contest!!

I initially thought that they were "pot hangers." And no, no roach clips involved. :(

I think they are clips for a table cloth for a pic nic table.

oh no Kelly, those things can't be money clips... you would stab yourself the first time you moved. :P

You asked for it! I think they're Upstairs Downstairs Arousers from the Renaissance period. We've come a long way, so here's what they look like today. And no, I don't have them in MY nightstand!

She said they were 2 1/2 inches long, but a penny or other coin on the table in the pic would really help, I agree! Aren't I getting picky and testy in my zest to know the answer?!! :P

I have to go with the idea that they are supposed to go on the side of your glass to mark who's glass is who's. I just can't think of anything else.

Did your mom get to the station??

Doh! if they are two inches long, which is much, much smaller than I thought, I'd have to change my guess to bookmark.

Hey Lisa, they are kind of cute! Looks like I could hang them from my belt loops as a decoration! :( Just unclip them when needed!!!

No no word yet from radio station or mom! I have e-mailed EVERYONE in my address book and still no answer! :P

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
