Need to get back in the swing of things.

Recommended Posts

I was banded in April and I was doing really well, going to curves, really watching, etc... Lately I have been doing so much overtime at work and I have just been putting everything on the back burner. I have not gained any of my weight back but I have not beed losning any more either. I am so disgusted with myself I could kick my ass. I am going to get in the groove again, but was wondering, how many others have fallen off the wagon this soon? Am i a failure? :tt1: I am discouraged. Any suggestions?????

The same thing happened to me. I was banded in February and did so well until about july and then it all went down hill. Well, kind of, I gained about 5lbs back but it was like I was STUCK majorly and didnt know how to get back in the grove. So I tried the 5 day pouch test (google it) and it really helped me to get that pouch feeling back and kickstart my weight loss again! best of luck to you!

Forgive yourself and go forward. Looking back is a waste of your time except to realize what you did wrong so it can be corrected. NEVER tell yourself that you are a failure. It's the first step towards defeat and a minor step-back isn't going to do that to you unless you let it. The old saying "THINK POSITIVE" is so true. So, lift up your head and strive forward.....you can do it.

Hi Hopeful60...

I know about the OT stuff. It's hard to get back into the swing of things. When I started to get down on myself I thought about what can I do to change... something small that I could handle. I decided to park far away from the door at work so that I would at least get a short walk in and then I'd take the stairs. It's not much but it got me going again. Now when I take a break... I go for a 15 minute walk and I try to walk again at lunch. It's not much but at least it's something to keep me going. Maybe you can try the same?

Good Luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
