Band / Rollercoaster

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone,

I am going on a trip to Univeral Studios Island Of Adventures this weekend and I am wondering if anyone has gone on extreme up-side-down rollercoasters with their bands?

I been to Sixflags Magic Mountain a few times... those rides are extreme....( look them up) :tt1:

The ones in Universal Studios Hollywood are pony rides compared to those...

Im not sure what the rides in Florida are like but im sure you will be fine... ENJOY!!

thanks I feel better now :tt1: Island of Adventures really does have some hairy roller coasters right up there with Six Flags over Atlanta so I am glad I will be able to ride them

I specifically asked my Surgeon this question. I went to Hershey Park approx. 3 months post op and he said that I should stay away from those Rides that have a bar that crosses over your stomach. Many of the older style coasters have this type of setup.

Many of the newer coasters now have over the shoulder harnesses. These were ok as there was not direct preasure on your stomach. Also, depending on how large you are, some of the over the shoulder types did put some direct preasure on the stomach.

Just be careful!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
