queen263 0 Posted September 15, 2009 Has anyone else had an issue with low Iron? My primary will not write my approval until my hematologist clears me, but they can not get my iron too much above 7.5. I've completed everything else and this is holding me up. Mimilou2004 13 Posted September 15, 2009 Sometimes ppl are not told to take their Iron with Vitamin C. It is absorbed better. Maybe this hint will help you? Best wishes. Mimi

Shar Pei 0 Posted September 15, 2009 A friend of mine always had trouble with her iron...found out that she needed to go on a gluten free diet and it really helped.
queen263 0 Posted September 16, 2009 Hi all and thanks for the suggestions. I am currently on intravenous Iron for the 2nd time. I started at 6.6, but it only went up to 7.6 and I have completed this cycle. I have thalassemia and my iron isn't going to go to a normal range (11 - 14). Oral iron is not absorbed in my system. This is so disheartening.
