I know ya'll are getting anoyed with every other post being from me but since I am in recovery I have nothing to do but surf the web! So, ya'll have answered all my ?'s about eating bread - but can I still eat whole wheat or low carb Pasta sometimes? Will it go down ok? I know carbs are bad for weight loss but if it would go down ok I would like to continue to eat the "healthier" pasta from time to time. What do ya'll think? Does pasta go down ok?

It does for me, but I've not had a fill yet. I only eat it maybe once or twice a month though. I used to be a pasta/bread addict, but now it's a rarity. I guess I just try to eat my Protein first.

I have good restriction, and Pasta doesn't go down real well for me. I try it now and again, but I don't crave or miss it like I thought I would. Once something makes you miserably uncomfortable you'll find that you're ok with not having it anymore.

I can eat macaroni & cheese very easily. I have a good fill & cannot eat breads & lots of other white flour stuff. However, Mac & Cheese is no problem. I tried a place of spaghetti the other day & I ate about 10 bites & then I was done. I started getting that pain in my chest. I think it's a little different for everyone.

I don't like white Pasta so I only use whole wheat. I have had whole wheat spaghetti noodles in marinara sauce and in an italian dressing/vegetable salad with no problems. I did take small bites and cut up my pasta before i use it.

just think Protein first, veggies next , and carbs if there if room. I got my first fill last week and am eating less but not as little as i thought. I am battling the monthly hormone demon and eating my way thorough life one small portion at a time but maintaining weight loss. Next week i will lose big. I lost 6 lbs last week. I just try to remember protein first..... Pasta is no problem at all. I just dont want to fill up on it since there is limited protein.

Pasta make me fill sick! i had my 2nd PB last week just with 2 spoons of spaghetti!

i would suggest to avoid it cause it has nothing to offer than carbs and carbs!

no Protein at all ..

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
